TAKE A SEAT EP01 ft. Ms. Pushpa Preeya

Her path of success preferred silence, leading many into an illusion of her incapabilities. Her success uplifted the illusion and outshone the stigmas.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, of Poona College of Pharmacy (BVDU, Pune) has a workforce of splendid women with exceptional skill sets and capabilities. Since we’ve been continuously delivering one-of-a-kind webinars and sessions, the team thought of beginning with another impactful series of live sessions. The series is called Take a Seat and is solely centered on building a productive and motivated Instagram community.

On the 26th of August, 2020 widely celebrated as Women’s Equality Day, the first episode was held with Ms. Pushpa Preeya.

Words fall short while describing our guest, Ms. Pushpa Preeya. She is an epitome of a welfare worker. She’s a TEDx speaker, a Nari Shakti awardee, an entrepreneur, and a member of All India Inclusion. Her work has not been limited to only women but having motherhood at her core she has extensively worked for disabled children, the transgender community, and the elderly community. An absolute gem for the country, she was recognized for her selfless deeds by the current President of India (Hon’ble Mr. Ram Nath Kovind).

The session highlighted some omnipresent questions, concepts, and widespread beliefs altogether. Beginning with her journey till now, Ms. Pushpa shared some tough and breaking challenges, that she had to face along the way, which was enough to stop anyone from achieving what she has achieved. But, it was her attitude and never fading smile, that surpassed all these challenges. Moving ahead, we also discussed her insights on topics like the gender-based pay gap, and the increasing belief in misandry instead of equality.

Pushpa ma’am suggested that implementing pay transparency and eliminating the negotiations at any workplace with equal workload would bring down the age-old issue of the gender-based pay gap.

It was nearly the end of the session when she made a strong mark on the importance of having an aspiration along with hard work and struggle which paves the real road to persistent success.

The session had over 100+ live viewers and has a viewership of over 300 people now and we hope to deliver more such exemplary live sessions. In the end, we’re grateful to Ms. Pushpa Preeya and all our staff members, teachers, and our delightful audience for empowering us to conduct our endeavors successfully.

“To all the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful, and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.” - Hillary Clinton
